The piano is an instrument of dexterity and expression, allowing an almost endless number of compositional possibilities. ‘Felt’, a compilation for solo piano, presents an array of techniques and themes to illustrate the piano’s said dexterousness and limitless tonal palette. Recorded between 2011 and 2014, this Navona Records release features the work of seven contemporary composers – six Americans and one Australian – all of whom are successful as either professional instrumentalists, composers or teachers, or combinations thereof.
