On this new choral CD, the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks under the direction of Peter Dijkstra performs works by Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler and Richard Wagner. This disc features unusual transcriptions such as “Isoldes Liebestod” and the “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen” for 16 part chorus by Clytus Gottwald. Peter Dijkstra, who has been the artistic director of the ensemble since 2005, is prominent in the choral scene and has presented the ensemble together with both BR Klassik orchestras in a number of versatile programs.
