Visions, the new release from the British-German violinist Caroline Adomeit and wonderful Ukranian pianist Nadiya Kholodkova, is inspired by the fantastic piano repertoire. Transcriptions, including eleven world premieres by Caroline herself, of works from the early harpsichord music of the Baroque era, through Classical and Romantic pieces, to Impressionism and music of the twentieth century (from Henry Purcell’s Hornpipe to Sergei Rachmaninov’s Italian Polka) show her complete mastery of the violin and her ability to produce an entire artist’s palette of colors. “…her playing has an infectious joy and rhythmic vitality… passages of crossed strings are so precise, and even in the most mercurial sections her intonation is perfectly centered…” (The Strad)

°VISIONS° The latest Album from violinist Caroline Adomeit (JOACHIM WORMSBÄCHER ) If you work on piano works for the violin ,this is probably not because the literature for the instrument would have been too short. On the contrary, the original literature for the violin is immense - quite different from the viola, for example, which often has on resort to work on the basis of bare necessity. The violinist Caroline Adomeit, with her latest CD, "Visions", published by Thorofon, together with the pianist Nadiya Kholodkova, pursues the artistic, perhaps the most sublime, goal to be worked on: the opening of new audiences. Thus, Adomeit attempts to interpret the composition as such in an interpretative manner and, at the same time, arrange the violin "geigerically" in order to make various aspects appear in a new light. Of the 24 arrangements of original piano and harpsichord compositions for the violin and piano instrumentation, a good part of Adomeitsfeder is composed, alternating with arrangements by great violinists such as Jascha Heifetz, Nathan Milstein and other arrangers. There are small treasures that Caroline Adomeit and Nadiya Kholodkova provide for the listener. Sovereign stylistic sense speaks both of the transcriptions as well as of theReproduced . As with your previous ones CDs directly takes Caroline Adomeit's lecture , is very close to the listener. their expression is remarkably versatile, of very lively gestures and agogics, their tone ofintelligent, supple intensity. The interplay in the duo leaves nothing to be desired. Speaking directly from the introductory Purcell hornpipe, people speak of the lab Pampering and charming dancer grace. In the Scarlatti arrangements, too, the spirit of the compositions is present in the lecture in such a way that, if one were notaware of it, it would hardly be necessary to deal with them . The Duo, for example , meets Schumann's Poetics in The Bird as a Prophet, or a completely different world, the almost lascivious sultry of Debussy's Waltz La plus que lente , the debussyof "Clair de lune", which was, as it were, weightless expressive . Full of enchanting , mysterious, grotesque Moments arethree pieces from the Visions fugitives op. 22 by Sergei Prokofiev and the Pré ludes op. 34 by Dmitry Shostakovich, withProkofiev's "fleeting visions" obviously serving as inspiration for the title of the CD. The way in which Caroline Adomeit unfolds the miraculous poetry of the posthumous cis minor Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin in the work of Nathan Milstein is astonishing and essentially characteristic of the entire CD. The listener mute the violin is not alien to the other, on the contrary the original piano versions are a great enrichment: Adomeit succeeds Sound world of the keyboard instrument directly in authentic string idiom with all its additional possibilities - the self-imposed goal was unquestionably achieved . Alexander Skrjabin 's third - act, succeeds in a virtuoso fireworks, with the final Italian Polkaof Sergej Rachmaninov who himself was a terrific transcriptor - a brilliant, musician-swinging throat .
